Ice melting

Global Warming: Ice melting

Since 1990, humans have been the primary cause of melting glaciers worldwide. Carbon dioxide, methane and other greenhouse gases occur naturally, trapping heat in the atmosphere and keeping Earth’s climate stable.

But human activities over the last few centuries have released greenhouse gases at levels that are affecting the climate.

From 2.7 million to 4.4 million square kilometers has ice melted over the past approximately 10 years.

The water that melted caused deaths of animals and also animal extinctions, environmental damages at many places and making the sea level rise which means that a few years from now the sea level may rise so fast that it will flood some places.

This image gives you an idea of how it looks now.

  1. I think you chose a really interesting article for your project! I also like how you inform us about this really important problem about the environment because you explain it well, say what this ice melting might cause, how this began and the picture you chose was also really helpful for the reader's understanding. Good job!

  4. This is a great topic to write about. It is such an important issue. You've kept your blog short and to the point, but I think you missed the opportunity to really explain the problem and say why is it such a big deal that arctic ice is melting.
